Counseling (*Service Provided outside of Holy Family): Provided through Catholic Charities to assist parishioners during periods of extreme instability including financial stress, mental health crises and incidents of domestic violence. Appointment line 703-687-8987.Sliding fee scale.
Emergency Assistance: Holy Family works with other charitable organizations and churches through ACTS to assist our clients with their utility bills. To qualify you must make an appointment with ACTS, live in one of three zip codes (22191, 22192 or 22193) and bring proof of your address and a picture ID.

Christmas Giving Tree: The Christmas Giving tree is a project for the less fortunate during the Holidays. We gather names from our Pantry Clients for children and Seniors. During Christmas we will hang tags with a child’s or senior’s name and what they would like for Christmas.

Back Pack Program: Provides bags of healthy, prepared food each weekend for 25 students that a neighboring school has recognized as the neediest. The program organizes food drives, packs the weekend food and distributes in private to the selected students. Contact Ellen Wiedley at [email protected]
Family Health Connection Mobile Van Clinic Services: A Health Van comes to Holy Family once per week every Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Requirements are to make an appointment, bring proof of income for last two months or recent tax return, proof of Woodbridge address, 2 IDs, Proof of lease or Mortgage payment. Best Choice (a Mobile Ultrasound & Resource Center): supports expectant mothers by providing prenatal care, sonogram screenings, printed materials and counseling. These tests are provided on-site via a mobile ultrasound and pregnancy resource center. Events include the Yearly Baby Bottle Fundraiser promoted through Holy Family.

Respect Life: A ministry where volunteers help pregnant women and new mothers with diocesan programs like Gabriel Project and Spiritual Adoption. We also provide post-abortive support through diocese programs like Project Rachel and Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats. We support the diocese in events such as the Respect Life Mass & Rosary, Peaceful Prayer Vigils at local abortion facilities and 40 Days for Life opportunities.

Action in Community through service (ACTS): A local non-profit organization serving the residents of PWC preventing and alleviating human suffering. ACTS provides assistance to people in crisis in collaboration with Holy Family and other parishes and churches in PWC. Services include Family Assistance, Clothing & Household items, Groceries, Emergency Prescription, Shelter, Children’s Program, Adult Advocacy Program, Community Outreach, Court Advocacy Office, Behavioral Intervention. Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington (CCDA): Offers programs and services to help restore individuals from brokenness by assisting families in crisis, caring for those in isolation, feeding the hungry, welcoming immigrants and the homeless and offering life and employment skills.

Black History & Heritage: Promotes the education of Black History and Heritage through cultural presentations of Saints, Clergy, and religious life to our school students and religious education classes. Provides annually church sponsored activities such as the Martin Luther King mass and supports a food booth at the International Fun Festival. During February’s Black History Month, celebrates a Mass with a visiting Celebrant and Gospel Choir followed by a community soul food potluck dinner.

EDUCATION/ADVOCACY
Virginia Catholic Conference (VCC): A public policy advocacy organization representing the Bishops of Virginia on matters of public policy in the areas of life and poverty such as Human Trafficking, Abortion, End of Life, and the Death Penalty. We participate in the annual March for Life as well as the Richmond Day for Life. Founded and operated by our U.S. Catholic Bishops, CCHD is the domestic anti-poverty program of the U.S. Catholic Church, working to break the cycle of poverty by helping low-income people participate in decisions that affect their lives, families and communities. CCHD also educates those who are not poor about poverty and its causes. Through their program, Catholic faithful are provided with opportunities to share monetary resources with CCHD and give time to work with CCHD projects in the Diocese. These opportunities assist the faithful in living out the love of God and neighbor in ways that express their baptismal call and continuing Eucharistic transformation.
