Rev. Christopher Tipton BIO

Father Tipton was born in Fayetteville, NC in May of 1989 to a military family.  He is the second of six children.  With his father’s TDY, the family was blest to live in a few states and spent several years overseas in Europe.   It was there that he became aware of two things that always remain constant in an ever-changing world: love of the family and Sunday Mass.  This awareness began to foster a love and desire to pursue the priesthood.

In education, Father Tipton attended private, parochial, public, and homeschool until his High School graduation in 2008.  Not certain whether he was being called to a religious order or diocese, Father Tipton attended Christendom College in Front Royal to study philosophy and theology.  Graduating Christendom in 2012, Father Tipton was accepted as a seminarian for the Diocese of Arlington and began his studies that Fall at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, PA for the next six years.  On June 9, 2018, Father Tipton was ordained a priest by Bishop Burbidge.  His first assignment was St. Leo the Great in Fairfax.  Currently, he is thrilled to be the chaplain for St. John Paul the Great High School.

El padre Tipton nació en Fayetteville, Carolina del Norte, en mayo de 1989, en una familia militar.  Es el segundo de seis hijos. Con el trabajo de su padre, la familia puede vivir en algunos estados y pasó varios años en en Europa.  Fue allí donde se dio cuenta de dos cosas que siempre permanecen constantes en un mundo en constante cambio: el amor a la familia y la misa dominical. En educación, el padre Tipton asistió a una escuela privada, parroquial, pública y en el hogar hasta su graduación de la escuela secundaria en 2008. Sin estar seguro de si lo llamaban a una orden religiosa o diócesis, el padre Tipton asistió a Christendom College en Front Royal para estudiar filosofía y teología. Al graduarse de la Christendom en 2012, el Padre Tipton fue aceptado como seminarista de la Diócesis de Arlington y comenzó sus estudios ese otoño en el Seminario San Carlo Borromeo en Philidelphia, Pensilvania, durante los próximos seis años. El 9 de junio de 2018, el obispo Burbidge ordenó al padre Tipton sacerdote. Su primera asignación fue San León Magno en Fairfax. Ahora, está encantado de ser el capellán de la colegio San Juan Pablo II el Magno.
