Setsuko Nakasone Diaz, 83, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away on December 7, 2015 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Born in Ginoza Village, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tokujiro and Shizu Nakazone of Okinawa, Japan. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Honorio Diaz; sisters, Emiko Field of Hawaii and Chieko Williams of Virginia; brothers, Hiroshi Nakasone of Okinawa, Japan, Akira Nakasone of Okinawa, Japan, Kiyoshi Nakasone of Hawaii, Nori Nakasone of Okinawa, Japan and Susumu Nakasone of Alaska; and many nephews and nieces.
Setsuko was a voucher examiner and an accountant with the federal government. She retired after 39 years of service.
The family will receive friends at the Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Boulevard. Woodbridge, VA, on Sunday December 13 from 1:00 – 3:00 and 5:00 – 8:00.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 14160 Ferndale Road, Dale City, VA 22193. Interment will be 12:00 noon at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia, 22201.
