The first picture is the Corpus Christi procession in Oberammergau, Germany. The procession takes place on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday. It is a federal holiday in many parts of Germany. Thousands of people lined up on the streets to see their pastor carry the monstrance. They also decorate altars on the streets. I have photographed two such altars with the flower arrangements in front. The stage is the Passionplay (Or “Passionspiele” in German). The people of the town have been celebrating this for 400 years every ten years. Here is some information about it https://www.passionsspiele-oberammergau.de/en/home It came about as a result of a promise to spare the town of the Plague. The last picture of me is in front of the infant of Prague image in the Czech Republic. The altar is quite impressive – all gold up in there!
